Cambridgeshire administrative, geographic and historic county of eastern England. Management District covers an area much larger than the former district, region or city. Made in 1974, the district administration includes almost all the historic county of Cambridgeshire, and most of the historical province of Huntingdonshire (which is almost in line with the district of the same name). The historical part of the county that are outside the district are small area north of Sandy Bedfordshire in the mid-term administrative district of Bedfordshire and surrounding counties in Thorney Peterborough unitary authority.

The historic county is sometimes considered as part of the traditional region of East Anglia and the Isle of Ely form in historical area of historic county Cambridgeshire. Administrative county of Cambridgeshire consists of five districts of East Cambridgeshire, Fenland, Huntingdonshire, South Cambridgeshire and Cambridge City, and includes a small area around the Great Chishill, which belongs to the historic county of Essex. Geographic county includes the entire administrative county and unitary authority Peterborough. Cambridge is the county seat.
